Application for admission is a dual process at UT.

  1. Send applications, transcripts, and test scores to the Graduate and International Admissions Center, where they are processed and eligibility for admission is determined.  Application materials will be forwarded to individual departments for review by the faculty in the program of your choice.
  2. Send letters of recommendation, statements of purpose, and the other requirements of the individual programs directly to the graduate adviser in the program of your choice.

Addition of Race and Ethnicity to Admission, Scholarship, and Fellowship Policies

As authorized by The University of Texas Board of Regents, and beginning with the academic year 2005-2006, and subject to the approval of the chancellor, The University of Texas at Austin has added race and ethnicity to the criteria considered for student admission and for awarding of scholarships and fellowships in those cases when an individualized and full-file review is conducted as part of the selection process.
