The Information Security Office (ISO) provides information on how you can secure your computer system and protect information technology resources at The University of Texas at Austin. The ISO's mission is to create a secure computing environment in which the university community can teach, learn and conduct research. All members of our community have a responsibility to do their part to support this mission. Awareness is your best defense. This site offers best practices and tools that will help you take preventive measures to secure your computer. Recent Content UpdateA new form has been added where you can report stolen computer equipment to the Information Security Office after you report it to university police. Reporting stolen computers to the ISO as soon as possible may help improve the chances of recovering the device. The ISO site now hosts secure Web application coding guidelines. The guidelines contain best practices and design guidelines for application developers on campus. Information about the ISO Risk Management Services has been consolidated and added to the site navigation for easier access. Templates to assist with Disaster Recovery Planning are the newest addition to the site.
