Resnet Upgrade Includes Online Tool and New Web Site

This year, students living on campus have new options when it comes to managing their Resnet accounts. Resnet, the Residence Hall Network, provides wired and wireless campus network connections and Internet service to all residence halls here at the university. The service features:

  • Three service plans, tiered to match how you use the Internet
  • Discounts for individuals who subscribe
  • Payment options including financial aid, scholarship money, or using What I Owe

Information Technology Services (ITS) recently released a new online account management application for Resnet. This new online tool simplifies the process for students who want to:

  • Subscribe to the service
  • Make changes to their subscription
  • Check the port status or bandwidth usage associated with their account

The application also provides diagnostic information about Resnet ports. This is helpful for subscribers who need to report any trouble with their wired or wireless access.

The Resnet Web site has also been redesigned to provide an improved customer experience. User testing and analysis resulted in a site that is easier to navigate, accessible and more user friendly. In addition to subscription information and the account management tool, the Resnet site also provides information on how to protect your computer, university policies that Resnet subscribers should be aware of, and online Help and Support.

For many students, having Internet access in their rooms is a necessity they don't want to be without. Resnet is the convenient, cost-effective solution.
