Laptop Checkout

Use your UT ID card to check out one of 30 PC laptops available to current students, faculty, or staff.

Summer Hours:
Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Saturday, Noon to 4 p.m.
Sunday, Noon to 9 p.m.

Laptop Checkout Policy

  • All equipment is due the same day as checkout.
  • A late fee of $20 per day will be charged if the equipment is not returned at the designated time. The late fee will accumulate up to the current value of a new machine, with equivalent specifications not to exceed $2,500.
  • If equipment is turned in late, a hold will be placed on your account with the university until the full amount is paid. Late fees are assessed upon return of the machine or after 72 hours, whichever comes first.
  • If you are late returning equipment three times, you will be barred from using the service in the future.

Hard Drive Destruction

Old, unused university computer hard drives may contain sensitive Category-I data and must be destroyed correctly. The Information Desk offers a Hard Drive Destruction service where faculty and staff can drop off UT-owned hard drives for safe and secure destruction by a third-party vendor.
