How to search Creative Commons-licensed media

1. Go to http://search.creativecommons.org/

2. Optionally, select one or both of available choices to be more secure in your right to use the media: "I want something that I can..."

• use for commercial purposes
• modify, adapt, or build upon

3. Enter search query (keywords) and click "Go"

4. Change search engine by clicking the appropriate tab below the green header

• Verify licensing on media by clicking CC icon or banner; this will open a browser window to explain the license icons
  • About the types of licenses: http://creativecommons.org/about/licenses/
  • To get a license for your original work: http://creativecommons.org/choose/

5. Comply with all license requirements

• Attribution for images may be given as a caption or a reference at the bottom of a blog post, for example.
